We are a school dedicated to the Japanese martial arts of Aikido and Iaido.

Karen De Paola, 5th Dan, Chief Instructor

Karen De Paola Sensei, 5th dan, Shidoin, Chief Instructor, began her Aikido training in 1977 with Yoshimitsu Yamada, 8th dan, Shihan, Chief Instructor of  New York Aikikai, Rick Stickles, 7th dan, Shihan, Chief Instructor of Aikido Schools of New Jersey and Bruce Bookman, Chief Instructor of Tenzan Aikido (Seattle, WA).


Alex Vieira, 4th Dan

Alex Vieira Sensei, 4th dan , Shidoin and 3rd dan Iaido,  began his Aikido training in 1991 with Rick Stickles and, in 1993, continued his training in Aikido and Iaido with Greg O’Conner, 6th dan, Chief Instructor of Aikido Centers of New Jersey.


Bonnie Veysey Sensei, 6th Dan 

Bonnie Veysey Sensei, 6th dan, Shidoin, began her Aikido  training in 1980 in Albany, New York. She was senior student of Irvin Faust, 6th dan, Chief Instructor of Albany Aikikai for nearly 20 years and was Chief Instructor of Albany Aikikai (2000-2002) and Helderberg Aikido Club (2002-2011) prior to moving to New Jersey. Currently, in addition to being an instructor-in-residence at Skylands Aikikai, she is an instructor at Harvard Aikikai.
